Hikes Right at Your Doorstep
From our house, you can set off on numerous trails that will lead you deep into the Tuscan countryside. In spring and autumn, this area is at its finest: vibrant colors, fragrant air, and an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment.
If you’d rather explore on two wheels but don’t have your bike with you, no worries! In Peccioli, you can rent e-bikes—just the boost you need to tackle the rolling (and sometimes challenging!) Tuscan hills.
My Favorite Way: Slow Steps and Curious Eyes
Personally, my favorite way to explore the area is on foot. Walking at a slow pace gives you time to take in every little detail: shady woods, vineyards that look like paintings, olive groves stretching as far as the eye can see. And you’re bound to have some delightful encounters—deer, hares, or maybe even a curious hedgehog.
Each season offers its own delicious treasures. In spring, you’ll find wild asparagus; in summer, sweet figs and ripe blackberries. Autumn is a feast of walnuts, arbutus berries, and mushrooms. If you’re walking with kids, gathering these little natural treasures makes the journey even more fun!
